In all our history, we all believe that man was born free and he deserves to stay so for the rest of his/her life. It goes without saying that men equally deserve to have the same rights and respect from others. However, in the complex world that we live in, there are many problems and conflicts that make us think of some as less worthy of respect than others.
To start with, man is the creation of God and therefore he/she is free to act and react in this worldly life. There is nothing and no one that should limit or diminish his/her rights to be free and respected. With that said, we still can see that there are much gender and racial discrimination and marginalization by men. In the past women were buried alive, burned at the death of their husbands and were slaves to a man. Racially, black in America and almost everywhere were discriminated against and had no rights at all. They were working in plantations as slaves and were denied a marriage with a white person. Of course, I always think that our history is full of shameful events that show just how cruel and oppressive some people were.
To reverse this image of inequality and oppression, non-governmental organizations have been doing all they can potect women's rights as well as ensure racial rights for immigrants and workers. So far, the efforts have been succeful but haven't stopped discrimination against minorities and women, in particul, in many countries. Violence and denial of a women's right to work and participate in public life is still not achieved in some conservative countries
Finally, and as far i am concerned, all individuals must take part in this campaign to call for equal rights and respect for everyone. It is with respect to the other and the abolishing of oppression that we can ensure a better, just and fair world to live in
Writing: The Situation of Women in The Past and Nowadays
Women had a very long history of issues and problems. However, nowadays, the situation of women has greatly improved. In the past, women were enslaved by men and were subject to all forms of violence. Besides,
They were considered property because in some cultures women were bought and sold like objects. Moreover, Women, in the past suffered from several issues such as ignorance, illiteracy, exclusion and marginalization.
Furthermore, women did have their rights. For instance, early marriage and polygamy was prevalent because women are not independent financially.
Nowadays, however, the situation of women has changed noticeably. For instance, women enjoy their freedom and emancipation. Besides, there are many laws that protect women from issues like early marriage and polygamy. In other words, laws state that girls should not get married before the age of 18. In addition, a man can not get married to another woman unless gets his first wife's approval. Furthermore, women, now, can do all the jobs that
were confined to men. That is to say,
many women are in positions of power. They can be in decision making
positions like leaders, managers, bosses and even presidents or queens
governing states.
There are many factors that
contributed to this tremendous change. These factors include social
changes, constitution amendments, new laws and regulations, feminism
movements around the world and family code. Other factors
involve globalization and development. In addition, having access to education and literacy also played a crucial role in improving the situation of women.
Women, nowadays, have attained great achievements in the world. For
example, women are equal to men in everything. They have the same
audacity and strength as men. Additionally, women, now, have high social status. They
celebrate their own days like women's day and mother's day. In short, no one can deny that women had a dark history of inferiority and hardships. However, they managed to rise to superior positions even more than men.
